Young People’s

Platform.

  • Housing is a human right. Young people are being priced out of their communities, forced into overcrowded living situations, or pushed into long commutes that limit opportunity. Real housing action means building and preserving homes people can actually afford.

    • Increase the supply of affordable and workforce housing

    • Protect renters from unjust evictions and excessive rent increases

    • Support first-time renters and homebuyers through targeted assistance

    • Hold developers accountable to affordability and community benefit standards

    • Prioritize housing near jobs, schools, and transit

  • Democracy only works when everyone can participate freely and fairly. Young people are organizing at record levels, yet face barriers to voting, representation, and civic engagement. Protecting democracy means defending our right to vote, organizing power, and trust in our institutions.

    • Expand voter registration, vote-by-mail access, and early voting options

    • Protect election integrity by opposing voter suppression and election interference

    • Strengthen civics education and youth engagement in public decision-making

    • Ensure transparency and accountability in government at every level

  • Community protection means keeping people safe without criminalizing poverty, identity, or youth. Young people deserve to live in neighborhoods where public safety is rooted in prevention, care, and trust—not fear or over-policing. We believe safety starts with stable housing, mental health support, and community-led solutions.

    • Invest in violence prevention, youth programs, and mental health first response teams

    • Support alternatives to incarceration, including diversion and restorative justice programs

    • Ensure public safety funding is transparent, accountable, and community-informed

    • Protect immigrant communities and reject policies that enable racial profiling

    • Expand resources for survivors of violence and abuse, especially youth and LGBTQ+ communities

  • Healthcare decisions belong to individuals—not politicians. Young people deserve affordable, accessible, and culturally competent care, including full reproductive freedom. Reproductive justice means the right to make decisions about our bodies, our families, and our futures.

    • Protect access to abortion, contraception, and comprehensive reproductive care

    • Expand mental health services for youth and young adults

    • Ensure healthcare coverage regardless of income, immigration status, or age

    • Support sex education that is medically accurate and inclusive

    • Invest in community clinics and providers serving marginalized populations
