Community protection means keeping people safe without criminalizing poverty, identity, or youth. Young people deserve to live in neighborhoods where public safety is rooted in prevention, care, and trust—not fear or over-policing. We believe safety starts with stable housing, mental health support, and community-led solutions.

• Invest in violence prevention, youth programs, and mental health first response teams

• Support alternatives to incarceration, including diversion and restorative justice programs

• Ensure public safety funding is transparent, accountable, and community-informed

• Protect immigrant communities and reject policies that enable racial profiling

• Expand resources for survivors of violence and abuse, especially youth and LGBTQ+ communities
