Endorsements will consist of a questionnaire. Candidates may request an interview if preferred.

TIMELINE
April 3rd- Applications to be endorsed by the Orange County Young Democrats (OCYD) shall open

April 17th 11:59:59 PM PT- Applications will CLOSE. Any applications and/or requests to be interviewed shall be denied.

April 18th through April 23rd - Applications will be thoroughly reviewed by the Endorsement Committee. The committee shall provide a list of candidates to recommend to endorse by the general body. This will pass via simple majority.

April 24th - A general membership meeting shall convene. Members in good standing (those who are eligible members since at least April 17th, 2025), shall be able to vote. An online form shall be sent out during the in-person meeting. This final step will require a 2/3rd plurality of votes. Those without a 2/3rd plurality will be decided as NO CONSENSUS.

WHY SHOULD I WANT TO BE ENDORSED?

The Orange County Young Democrats, voted Chapter of the Year by the California Young Democrats in 2026, have worked tirelessly to turn Orange County Blue. In 2024, OCYD conducted 1,000,000+ voter contacts, raised $1,000s to donate to campaigns, and organized college chapters and membership to knock and call across the county. We were the margin of victory for countless races from city councils to Congress.

This year is no different.

Endorsed candidates can expect youth volunteers for canvassing and phonebanking, support from our communications team, organizing from our membership, and/or additional campaign resources as voted on by the Board.

State - Governor, Lt. Governor, State Senate, State Assembly, etc.

Federal - Congressional

Local - Board of Supervisors and City Council

Education - State Superintendent and School Board

General Application - Board of Equalization, Judges, Water Districts, etc.
